The Mega Mela Halal Food Festival and Property Expo, organized by Shah Entertainments under the leadership of Nasir Shah, who also serves as the Mayor’s Brampton Business Ambassador, was a vibrant celebration of Subcontinent culture in Canada. Held on August 10, 2024, at Brampton Fairgrounds, the event aimed to foster friendship and support local businesses. With approximately 50,000 attendees, it became one of the community’s most significant gatherings, attracting notable guests like Mayor of Brampton Patrick Brown, MP of Brampton North Ruby Sahota, and MP of Brampton South Sonia Sidhu.
Shah Entertainments went the extra mile to ensure the event’s success by arranging visas and comfortable travel for some of Pakistan’s most renowned artists. The lineup included Malkoo, Shahzia Manzoor, Shabnum Majeed (awarded PTV’s Best Singer), Sara Altaf, and Ustad Joji Ali Khan. Local talents like Faisal Raza, Mohsin Shaukat, Shugfta Ghazal, and Ranbir Chahun also graced the stage, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. People traveled from faraway cities to attend this grand event, and some die-hard fans even crossed the border to showcase their love for the featured singers and to promote their businesses in Canada.
With over 100 diverse stalls, the festival offered a wide range of food, cultural items, and business opportunities. Attendees enjoyed dishes from vendors like Al Baaik Chicken, Open Mic Cafe and Cuisine, BBoyz, and a variety of Jamaican, Somalian, Indian, Pakistani, and Turkish cuisines. Beyond food, there were stalls showcasing clothing, books, toys, face painting, henna designs, jewelry, and more from various cultures. Business stalls, including banks, mortgage services, film producers, and property stalls, provided valuable networking opportunities.
The income generated on this day was remarkable, fulfilling the event’s primary goal: to give people the opportunity to earn a month’s income in a single day. Shah Entertainments delivered on its promise, making the Mega Mela an unforgettable event filled with cultural celebration, business success, and joyous entertainment.
